What is required to join Boy Scouts? To be eligible, a boy or girl must be at least 10 years old and no more than 18 years old, completed the fifth grade, or have received the Arrow of Light Award.

There is no requirement to have previous scouting experience, and anyone who meets the eligibility requirements can come to a Troop 869 meeting for more information and to join. For those who are Cub Scouts, representatives from Troop 869 will attend Webelos bridging ceremonies for those Dens who give advance notice of boys intending to join Troop 869.

While Troop 869 is a boy-led troop, we do need lots of help from parents to plan and attend events, serve as Assistant Scout Masters, perform administrative tasks, and help scouts with Merit Badges.  All parents are invited to attend Committee Meetings, Troop Meetings, and serve on Boards of Review.  Boy Scouts is an excellent opportunity to spend time with your son or daughter and so please plan on being involved and active with the troop.
